Our Story Begins in the Hills of Kandy

Heritage Kandy Cooking Class was born from a simple love of sharing food and stories. Located at 57, Augestawattha, Kandy, Sri Lanka, our family home sits among the verdant hills of Kandy, surrounded by cinnamon, pepper, and cardamom that grow naturally in our garden.

For three generations, our family has been preparing traditional Kandyan cuisine using recipes that have remained unchanged for over a century. What started as hosting friends and neighbours for meals gradually evolved into welcoming travellers from around the world into our kitchen.

Today, we offer an immersive, hands-on cooking experience where guests do not just watch — they cook. From grinding spices on a traditional stone mortar to stirring curry over a wood-fired stove, every moment is a connection to the rich culinary heritage of Sri Lanka.
